Energy Surge

Many times this summer I have been awakened by the jarring sound of thunder which means seconds before brilliant bolts of lightening flashed across the sky turning the night into day if only for a brief moment. I don’t know about you, but I can tell you that my consciousness of the power of lightning has been raised as a result of our many electrical storms, and I have thought more about how to protect myself and my family when lightning is in the vicinity.

For the sake of your safety, if outside, go to the nearest shelter, and if one is not available, go to the lowest place nearby and position yourself to have the least contact with the ground that you can. If inside, stay off the phone, although cell phones are safer than land line phones; stay out of the shower or bath particularly if your pipes are metal.

So, what does all this have to do with you ... for me, it is a very overt reminder of the energy fields that exist within us and around us all of the time. Several past editions of Tiberius Rx have focused on this topic, yet, we did not focus on the direct connection with science. While we cannot control Mother Nature, we can control ourselves, our thoughts, emotions and actions (TEAs – remember!) and an electrical storm reminds us of what can happen if we do not.

In an electrical storm, a cloud becomes a giant capacitor, with the upper portion of the cloud having a positive charge and the lower portion having a negative charge which creates an electric field whose strength is directly related to the amount of charge build-up in the cloud. Now, your science lesson stops here, but the analogy continues. What comes to mind if you think of yourself as a capacitor? A container for storing and conducting energy, whose strength is a result of your created energy field.

What are your positive and negative energy sources? Does your capacitor have a net positive charge or is energy draining out of you? Has the charge in your capacitor created its own version of an electrical storm recently or have you enjoyed tranquility?

When the pace of life is fast, and our answer to "how are you" is busy, we often forget the control we have over our energy sources and the creation of our energy field.

We have the capacity to create our own weather. Preventing an electrical storm requires us to consciously manage our energy sources to create an energy field that emanates our desired state.

1. Take a few moments each day to make a reading of your capacitor.
2. Based on that reading, take action that will create your desired energy field.
3. When the next electrical storm happens, take action to protect yourself, and those around you.

Lightening did strike the Tiberius house this past weekend, resulting in the content of this ezine as well as the delay in its delivery, and reminding us that we cannot control Mother Nature but we can control how we respond to her.
In addition, my partner, Janet Crawford, wrote this edition and will write more in the future as I concentrate on finishing my book, The HEART of Human Happiness and seeing it through publication. Janet will continue to include content from the book in the ezine, and we will keep you posted on the books progress.

ABOUT Extra Ordinary Living

Taking their learning from 20+ years in corporate healthcare, Janet Crawford and David Scheiderer, MD formed Extra Ordinary Living, Inc. in 2003 with an intention of helping physicians, other healthcare professionals and their organizations identify possibilities and opportunities, remove obstacles, and ultimately, optimize results.

Usually the first question we are asked, is why Tiberius? Our trivia friends usually can identify the references……yes, Tiberius was the 2nd Roman emperor, and yes, Tiberius is the middle name of James T. Kirk from Star Trek. One of our life mottos and business principles is “to learn from the past, look to the future but live in the present;” thus, Extra Ordinary Living.

As Executive and Professional Coaches, we are trained to listen, to observe and to customize our approach to our client's needs. We provide tools, support, structure and accountability to help our clients unleash their full potential and optimize results. There are so many reasons for physicians in particular to feel disenchanted with their chosen profession, their calling. Having a coach helps them get back in touch with their passion for being a healer.

The best thing about coaching is that it is all about you and what you want. We may share our opinions and give you advice, but it is up to you to pick and choose what you want to accept. We suspend judgment and will support you in your decisions.

As Professional Speakers, our messages are inspirational while imparting useful, practical and memorable information in a fun and dynamic way to help you in your pursuit of authentic happiness, and the enjoyment of deep life experiences.

Tiberius Rx ... written by a physician for physicians and those who love them, work with them, or befriend them, and want to enjoy deep life experiences while more effectively pursuing a life of happiness.
